Bandcamp will once again be waiving its fees for a 24-hour period on May 1st to help support independent artists. All proceeds from downloads and merch purchased on the site will go directly to the artists or their labels.
This will be the second time the site waived fees in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last fee-free day on March 20th, fans spent $4.3 million on the site according to an article by TechCrunch. Bandcamp usually takes 15% of digital sales and 10% of merch sales made on their website.
For those of you out there who want to support independent musicians, this is a great way to help out your favorite artists without spending any extra money on fees!
