new song saturday: rodeo by host family

Los Angeles noise rock band Host Family released their new single “Rodeo” on June 28th, the sixth release since the band’s conception in 2022. With influences from shoegaze, noise rock, and art rock, Host Family continues to show us different sides of themselves as a band with every new release.

Rodeo is much more driven and straightforward than their previous release, the double single “Two Months, Next Year / Splinter.” Layers of guitars create a depth of sound that feels larger than life but still down to earth. Even with an abundance of raw energy, “Rodeo” continues to hold an effortlessness that can be felt throughout the band’s entire discography.

Having opened for Bar Italia, played shows across the state, and been featured multiple times on LA’s non-profit online radio Dublab, Host Family is bringing a new sonic perspective to the Los Angeles music scene as one of the most promising up-and-coming bands from Southern California.

Listen to Rodeo below and don’t miss them live at the Moroccan Lounge on Friday, July 5th with Marni and Fever Dream! Tickets on sale here.
