socal sounds: the old ways

If you’re looking for a band to get behind before they reach the heights of stardom, look no further than SoCal’s very own The Old Ways. Between their distinctive slow melodies and unparalleled lyrics, this group has that captivating quality you crave in an artist.

Having only formed about a year ago, the alternative rock band has already begun to make a name for itself in the L.A. music scene. The band consists of six members Alex Alford (rhythm guitar), Alfredo Hernandez (lead guitar), Aison King (bass), Charles Berg (piano), John Darrouzet IV (vocals), and Thomas Pribyl (drums). Their unique sound has earned the quintet gigs at well-known venues including AMPLYFi, TRiP Santa Monica, The Mint LA, and White Oak Music and Arts (WOMA). Also notable, the fab five were the openers for big-name artists Majid Jordan and The Neighbourhood at Loyola Marymount University’s 2017 Fallapalooza concert.

Currently, the boys only have two of their songs, “Idaho” and “One Afternoon”, available for streaming on Soundcloud. The group has written and performed other original songs live, as seen on their YouTube channel, but has yet to drop studio versions of these songs. Surely, these will be releases to look forward to in the future as they continue to build their platform and refine their brand.Follow The Old Ways on Instagram (@theoldwaysband) for updates on new music and local shows and be sure to check them out on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.
